Bio
Sharon Hurvitz is a New York-based mastering engineer and composer. She serves as an assistant to Grammy-winning engineer Alan Silverman at Aerial Sound, working alongside one of the industry's most celebrated engineers on a catalog spanning over 100 Grammy-nominated records.
Sharon’s technical approach is deeply informed by her work as a composer. She attended Columbia University, studying with Georg Friedrich Haas and Zosha Di Castri, and earned a Master of Music in Screen Scoring from NYU Steinhardt. This academic foundation, paired with performances of her concert works by ensembles such as the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the International Contemporary Ensemble, and the Calder String Quartet, has given her a refined ear for dynamic range, texture, and emotional intent. She views mastering not merely as the final step in production, but as a collaborative opportunity to elevate a song’s narrative.
Her mastering portfolio spans a diverse range of genres, from Maro’s debut English-language album So Much Has Changed and Robby Good’s theatrical cast recording Dis-topia, to classical audiophile releases. Whether the project is a classical recording or a hyperpop single, she applies the same rigorous attention to the unique intent behind every record.
As an artist, Sharon releases music under her own name. Her debut album Clangen Vol. 1: Newleaf, the official soundtrack for the indie game Clan Generator, showcases her ability to blend complex orchestral and ambient textures into fully realized immersive soundscapes.
Based in New York, she works internationally.
